For organisations planning community playspaces, the project shows how a design can reflect its local setting while drawing on Australian-made play equipment.
The project as a whole
Unity Park brings together familiar playground favourites: a SkyTower (now replaced by the Connect Towers range), swing set, SkyClimber and Twista. Children can climb, swing, spin and explore, with sand playground surfacing underfoot and the beach right beside them. It’s a classic playground in a distinctly tropical setting.
In Vanuatu, a playground can help create equal opportunity: a shared place where children can play alongside one another and take part in community life. Moduplay is proud to have played a part in bringing Unity Park to life for the Luganville community.

Colour with local connection
The playground’s colour scheme draws inspiration from the Luganville flag, bringing a strong connection to the city into the SkyTower’s design. It gives Unity Park a distinctive identity and helps the playspace feel connected to the community it serves. It’s a thoughtful way to reflect the local setting while creating a landmark play space for Luganville.
What Unity Park means for the Luganville community
Peter Bowman, Founder of PBG Foundation, reflects on what the project has meant:
Seeing the photos and the smiles on the children’s faces truly says it all. It is a powerful reminder that what might seem like a regular day for us can mean the world to these children, highlighting how much we often take for granted. This project has been a profound eye-opener and a wonderful learning experience for all of us at the PBG Foundation.
