Bel Air Park already had the makings of a strong neighbourhood space, with a basketball court, walking track, picnic tables and a water station encouraging families to spend more time outdoors. The playground upgrade adds another important layer, giving children a refreshed place to climb, swing, rock, spin and explore.
The upgraded playground brings together a compact mix of play experiences, including:
- A stronger reason to stay, with the playground adding another active layer to a park already used for walking, basketball, picnics and family time
- Climbing and exploring through the Roamer Connect Unit, giving children a central play piece to move through and navigate
- Swinging side by side with a Capital Double Bay Swing and Nest Seat, supporting both individual and shared play
- Rocking and imaginative play through the Lorikeet Rocker and Seesaw Rocker, adding movement for younger children
- Inclusive spinning with the Inclusive Neo Saucer, creating a shared play moment for children of different ages and abilities
This kind of renewal shows the value of keeping community parks current. When a playground is updated alongside other park amenities, it becomes more than a quick stop. It becomes a place where families can stay longer, children can move through different types of play, and the wider community has another reason to gather.
