Lawrance Hinde Park is a local park renewal with the community at its centre. Delivered in partnership with Urban Play, the project transformed a dated playground into a packed play space with more variety, more movement, and more reasons for local families to stay and play.

Located on Explorers Way, Lawrance Hinde Park already had the foundations of a well-used neighbourhood space, with open grass, picnic areas, sporting facilities and room for families to gather. What it needed was a playground that matched the value of the wider park.
The upgrade introduced a strong mix of play experiences, including a Connect tower, Wave Rider, rocker, spinner, GeoClimber and two bays of swings. Together, these elements create a playground with something for every child, from climbing and sliding through to spinning, rocking, swinging and imaginative play.
The project was also an important outcome for local families, including those connected to nearby Worongary State School. With both Division 5 and Division 9 of the City of Goldcoast working together to support the upgrade, the playground now gives local children a more engaging, active and welcoming place to play before school, after school and on weekends.
Named in recognition of Mr Lawrance Hinde’s contribution to the Gold Coast community, the park now continues that legacy in a renewed way. What was once a dated playground with limited play value is now a lively local destination, delivered through collaboration and designed to support everyday community connection.
