This project was grounded in genuine community consultation, with feedback gathered from 72 local children helping to guide the outcome. The strongest message was consistent: the space needed to offer play that appeals across different ages and abilities.
That direction shaped both the layout and the selection of play elements. The result is a well-balanced play space that offers a mix of challenge, accessibility and social interaction, allowing children to engage at their own pace and confidence level.
Shade sails have been integrated across key areas of the playground, improving comfort and usability throughout the day and supporting longer visits from families, schools and the wider community.

The design process focused on creating a space that feels open and easy to navigate, while still delivering strong play value across different skill levels
Careful consideration was given to how different elements connect, ensuring a natural progression from simpler activities through to more challenging play. Opportunities for active movement sit alongside lower-intensity social elements, supporting a variety of play styles within one space.
The final outcome reflects a play space that is not only functional but community-led. Shaped by real input and designed to keep children coming back as they grow.
The playground brings together a mix of equipment that supports broad play experiences, such as:
- A combination of Connect active play elements that encourage climbing, movement, and progression
- Lower level play features such as the Hospital and the Panel grid that cater to different confidence levels
- A Quartz climber introduces a more challenging play element, keeping movement flowing through the main unit
- Shade sails and a combination of mulch and rubber softfall soften the space, adding a more natural, grounded feel
