A neighborhood play space designed to bring people together
Beauford Avenue Reserve is a compact but considered play space that balances active recreation with inclusive, everyday play. Designed for its suburban Newcastle setting, the space brings together multiple play types in a single, connected layout. Supporting movement, rest and social interaction across age groups.
The blue softfall and natural mulch palette creates visual contrast while clearly defining play zones, helping the playground sit comfortably within its green surrounds.
Designed with access and comfort in mind
- Continuous paved pathways provide wheelchair access throughout the space
- Seating is integrated into the layout for carers, parents and rest breaks
- clear sightlines support supervision and shared use
- a mix of play experiences encourages longer stays and repeat visits
Materials that matter
Recycled rope elements are woven into the climbing section of the Connect unit. Strong, durable and designed for everyday use, the rope supports active play while quietly doing something more.
It’s a material choice most users will never notice. These recycled components blend seamlessly into the play experience, proving that sustainable design doesn’t need to shout to make an impact. Just good materials, used well, helping create play spaces that feel better today and tread a little lighter into the future.

Where the fun lives
Beauford Avenue Reserve offers play experiences that invite kids to climb, bounce, swing and explore. The layout encourages active, social play while allowing space for creativity and confidence building. All adding to the kind of play that makes children ask for “one more go”.
- Scrambling and climbing through the Connect unit, with different paths up and two ways to slide back down
- An in-ground trampoline for jumping, rolling and inclusive play
- Clear paths that invite kids to make up their own games as they move between play zones
- A half sports court with a basketball hoop for shooting, passing and friendly competition
